Something New Is Happening…

On October 12th, our church is transitioning to two Sunday morning gatherings– 9:00 am and 11:00 am– and we couldn’t be more excited about it!

Some Things We’d Like to Share

With October 12th around the corner, our pastoral staff have a few things they’d like to share, that are important for you to know. We’d love it if you could watch their video announcement in it’s entirety.

Our Asks…

1. Pick a service time.

Pray about it, talk with your family about it. Which service time are you prepared to commit to?

3. Let us know which service you’re committing to

In preparation for October 12th, it would be helpful for us to have an idea about which service time people are planning on attending. When you’ve decided, you can let us know below.

2. Join a Sunday Team

If you currently aren’t on a Sunday Team, we’d love for you to join one. At the current moment, 30% of our congregation is on a Sunday Team. If we want to transition to two services in a healthy and sustainable way, we need more support! If you’d like to join a team or have questions about joining one, click below.

4. Consider: Who can I invite?

Who in my life needs hope, needs purpose, needs peace? Who in my life needs Jesus? Who can I invite to church, to Alpha, to Conversation Cafe, to Life Group, to my home?

FAQs

Why are you asking us to commit to a service?

We believe that strong relationships and community are essential to a healthy church. This means it’s important for us to be consistent in our service time so that we can work towards cultivating deeper relationships.

If I pick a service, does that mean I can’t change?

Definitely not! We aren’t holding anyone to the service time they choose. If you find that the odd week you need to attend a different service, that’s okay! And if something changes in your life that makes the service time you chose less-than ideal, changing service times is more than okay.

Am I allowed to attend both services?

If you are in a season where you have the capacity and desire to participate in both service, we’d love that– for your sake and ours!

Is there a service time that you think will be less full, that you’d like me to attend?

While we can’t predict the future, we are anticipating the 9:00 am service to be slightly more full. So if you’re looking to pick a service time based on need and opportunity, then we would encourage you to consider the 11:00 am service.

Will the same sermon be preached at both services?

Yes, it will be the same message preached at both services.

Is there kids programming at both services?

Yes, there is kids programming available at both services. Class division & size may differ based on the needs of each service, but there is programming available at both services for kids up to grade 8.

Will we go back to one service once our Phase II building project is done?

As we transition to two Sunday Services, our plan is to keep things that way even after we build our new sanctuary– we don’t see this as a temporary measure. That being said, we will continue to discern the needs of our community and the Lord’s leading as we get closer to the completion of Phase II.

As we transition to two Sunday Services, does that mean church events will also get broken into two, or will they be for the entire church family?

We believe that too much change at once can be hard on a church, which is why our plan for the coming year is to plan church events that people from both services are invited to attend together. Beyond that, we can’t give a definitive answer, other than to say we are going to be monitoring need and seeking the Lord’s guidance and wisdom with decisions like this.

This is a big moment for our church…

… and  we step into it with faith, joy and confidence that God is leading the way. We’re so grateful for each of you! Thank you for being part of what God is doing here at Northridge. We cannot wait to see you on Thanksgiving Sunday!
